Abstract
Periodontal diagnosis is complex due to the overlapping nature of clinical signs and symptoms with other dental or systemic diseases. Misdiagnosis can result in ineffective treatment, patient dissatisfaction, and disease progression. This review outlines frequently encountered diagnostic errors in periodontics and offers insights to help general dentists improve diagnostic accuracy in everyday practice.
