Abstract

This in vitro study compared the fluoride release from a resin-based sealant (Helioseal F) and a glass ionomer sealant (GC Fuji VII) over 21 days. Ten specimens of each sealant were tested using a fluoride ion-selective electrode, with fluoride release measured daily for the first week, and on days 14 and 21. Results showed that both materials released fluoride throughout the study period, but GC Fuji VII consistently released significantly higher amounts than Helioseal F. Overall, GC Fuji VII demonstrated greater potential for enhancing fluoride levels in the oral environment and preventing dental caries.
